Copyright and open data
The National Archives has waived all of his own rights to the scans of documents, maps and photos under copyright law and has dedicated the images to the Public Domain. This only applies to images that feature a download button and are marked as Public Domain or CC0.
Images not available as download:
- Scans of documents and photos for which the National Archives is not the copyright holder.
- Low resolution scans
If a download button is not available, the image is protected under copyright law (the National Archives is not the copyright holder).
Spaarnestad Photo collection
Of all images coming from the Spaarnestad Collection the copyright is owned either by Spaarnestad Photo or third parties which are being represented by Spaarnestad Photo. If you want to use a Spaarnestad photo contact verkoop@spaarnestadphoto.nl
