2.05.37 Inventaris van het archief van de Directie Economische Zaken van het Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken, 1919- 1940
De in 1919 opgerichte Directie Economische Zaken was belast met de buitenlandse economische betrekkingen. Na 1933 is de informatiewaarde van het archief minder, omdat vanaf dat jaar de primaire verantwoordelijkheid voor de handelspolitiek lag bij het ministerie van Economische Zaken.Het archief is geheel op onderwerp geordend, waarbij de omvang van de dossiers sterk uiteen loopt. Het bevat onder meer de rapportage van de diplomatieke en consulaire ambtenaren over de economische situatie in het land van hun standplaats. Het archief betreft onder meer stukken over: arbeidswetgeving, belastingen, financiële en monetaire zaken, certificaten van oorsprong, in- en uitvoerrechten, havens, scheepvaartverbindingen, luchtvaart, posterijen, spoorwegen, visserij, olieproductie. De serie door Nederland gesloten handelsverdragen is per land geordend.
